The Congress has taken a swipe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi after his 97-year-old mother Hiraba visited a bank at her village in Gujarat to replace now-defunct banknotes with new ones, saying ‘no good son’ would ever want this.
‘I am very sad. No good son ever wants that his 97-year-old mother has to (face such a situation) and they boast of a 56-inch chest,’ party spokesman Kapil Sibal told reporters in New Delhi on Tuesday (Nov 15).
Congress leader Rashid Alvi, speaking separately, accused Modi of not following ‘putra dharma’ (duties of a son).
