UK TELLS INDIA, PAKISTAN TO SOLVE KASHMIR ROW

Latest UK News - Indian News - Weekly News Magazine

Britain has asked India and Pakistan to find a 'lasting' solution to the Kashmir issue amid an escalation in tension, but made it clear that it was not for the UK to 'prescribe a solution or act as a mediator'.

UK Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson, who is on his first visit--for two days--to Islamabad, said 'we call for an end to the violence'.

'The longstanding position of the UK is that is it for India and Pakistan to find a lasting solution to the situation in Kashmir taking into account the wishes of the Kashmiri people,' Johnson told reporters on Thursday (Nov 24) at a joint press conference with Adviser to Pakistan Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz.
